Mission
The Black Female Development Circle is an organization founded by black women to serve as a support system for black women. Meetings are to be a place where women with similar experiences can come together to discuss current events and find comfort from one another. This Circle is open to all peoples of all backgrounds and identities, however the main focus is on the black woman. We will hold events and forums throughout the year with these purposes in mind: 1. Present vital knowledge in the form of mental and spiritual challenges to reshape thinking; 2. Provide mandatory practical life skills and specialized life skills that empower, and 3. Generate a stable environment of respect, admiration, and appreciation for our own kind and our contributions.

The purpose of the Black Student Union is to give students who are Black a voice on a predominately White campus. The Black Student Union provides a safe space for students to express themselves.

CAB plans social, recreational, and cultural events in order to bring students together and foster friendships through fun and stress-relieving activities. Past events have included movie nights on the West Lawn, pool parties, visits from comedians, and De-Stress Day, which is an event providing pizza, inflatable rides, and numerous other enjoyments to help students relax before finals. CAB is always open to suggestions and welcomes student input.

Mission
Community-Integrative Education (CIE) provides opportunities for Flagler College students to engage in a variety of high-impact learning experiences and to integrate the meaning of these experiences into their intellectual and personal development. CIE is a purposeful, directed, and intensively-focused opportunity that allows everyone involved to work in collaboration to identify issues, problems, causes, and solutions for the greater good. CIE allows students to put into practice the skills and theories they have learned during their coursework in order to apply that knowledge in the community-at-large. In that regard, CIE involves experiential learning, which is the process of learning from experience, or “learning by doing.” It focuses on an individual’s learning journey, alongside community experience, under the direction of an instructor. It occurs when connections are made between student experience in the community as a strategy to integrate student intellectual and psychosocial learning outcomes.

1) apply knowledge in the community to perform meaningful activities,
2) intellectually engage through reflection,
3) communicate and collaborate with others, and
4) use an understanding of diversity and cultural differences, to civically engage with the community.
